A woman has saved her pet dachshund from a Parkmore Avenue, Sturt unit fire
Residents say it sounded like a bomb going off as a Sturt unit was engulfed in flames, believed to be sparked by an electrical fault.

A woman has saved her pet dachshund from a unit fire in Sturt on Friday night causing $150,000 damage.
The resident woke just in time to grab her dog and phone and escape as her Housing Trust unit on Parkmore Avenue exploded in a fireball just after 8pm Friday night.
The fire is understood to have been sparked by an electrical fault.
Resident Yukuli Paia told 7News it sounded like a bomb going off.
“The glass was breaking through and just flying all over the place and the flames began to spread and growing bigger,” she said.
Resident Sue Brown said it was not the first time there had been at fire at the Housing Trust unit block.
“Fix it now, knock them down, start again,” she told 7News.
MFS and CFS firefighters attended the Sturt fire just 12 hours before flamed engulfed a Fulham Gardens home, killing one person.
Emergency services were called to Shannon St, Fulham Gardens just before 8am Saturday after reports of smoke and flames coming from a house.
MFS crews worked to battle the blaze but the home was completely destroyed by fire.
About five MFS crews remained on the quiet suburban street, while SA Police officers and detectives examined the scene until about 3.30pm.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.
Western District and Major Crime Detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, were at the scene.
Earlier on Saturday morning, police attended a suspicious fire at St Margaret’s Hospital, Military Rd, Semaphore South.
Just before 6.30am, emergency services were called to the hospital after reports of a mattress on fire in a room.
MFS crews extinguished the fire that was contained to a room within the hospital.
No one was injured.
An initial investigation indicates that the fire was deliberately lit.
