Mum’s the word on Adelaide’s best playground for tots: Jervois St Reserve named as the Destination of the Year for 2016

A NEW playground in South Plympton has been rated by parents as the best place in town to take young children.
The Baby and Toddler Destinations Facebook and Instagram groups, which have almost 10,000 followers, have named Jervois St Reserve as the Destination of the Year for 2016.
Founder Louise Hayton-Clark says the group regularly tests and reviews parks across SA.
“We feel this playground has left all other play spaces far behind,” she says.
Ms Hayton-Clark says the park was rated highly because it was fully enclosed and shaded.
“This has created a less stressful environment for parents to go to with their babies or toddlers,” she says.
“It has all the amenities that our followers look for such as a toilet, barbecues, a shaded picnic area and a huge lawn to run around on.
“The BMX track is most certainly a favourite for toddlers who love to take more risks.”
Marion Council opened the $940,000 reserve about six months ago.
Jacqui Bullock last week visited the park with her 18-month-old twins, Lyla and Isobel.
“It’s by far the best one I’ve been to since my children were born,” she says.
“It’s got a great nature play concept to it and it’s well designed for the younger crowd and the older ones.
‘There’s water play, there are slides where they can crawl up and it’s easily accessible for younger ones that have just learned to walk.”
