After more than 14 years in business, Grange Jetty Cafe owners Phil Aoukar and Marwan Oueiss know what makes a good cafe.
With its prime beachfront location and impressive menu, it’s no surprise the beachside cafe has been named Adelaide’s best.
Mr Aoukar said the picturesque dunes of Grange were certainly a drawcard but it was the cafe’s staff and customer service that kept people coming back.
“I give credit to our staff, they’re a bunch of fantastic, caring, happy and great attitude staff that would do anything for the customers and we produce beautiful quality food that people keep coming back for,” Mr Aoukar said.
“We get people from the other side of town come in, tourists come here and it’s just a credit to us and the reputation we’ve got.
“I think we’re a bit of an icon in Adelaide now and especially Grange.”
The cafe was nominated and voted as one of the best in Adelaide’s west as part of our Delicious Local poll in partnership with celebrity chef Matt Preston.
As one of the local finalists, the Grange Jetty Cafe progressed to our search for Adelaide’s best cafe and received almost 9 per cent of the total votes.
Mr Auokar said it was honour to be named Adelaide’s best cafe.
“When we started 14 years ago, Marwan and I had a vision of what kind of cafe needed to be here at Grange,” he said.
“We worked really hard and now we just love seeing how busy it is and the smiles on people’s faces and the compliments we get from our customers.
“We love our customers and we think we’ve got the best customers in Adelaide, they’re very loyal and for them to vote for us for something like this is just amazing.”
Coming second in the poll was Aldgate cafe FRED Eatery, which toped the vote for the Adelaide Hills region, while CBD champion and pastry experts Abbots and Kinney finished third.
East End French bistro Hey Jupiter and Port Adelaide favourite Banksia Tree rounded out the top five.
