A grain truck crash at a notorious SA intersection has blocked highway traffic for the second time this year.

Emergency services rushed to the rollover at the intersection of Augusta Highway and Venning Road, outside of Crystal Brook about 5.30am on Friday.

SAPOL deemed the crash as “serious” and asked motorists to avoid the area for “several hours.”

The truck driver, a 56-year-old man from Laura, was injured in the crash and flown to the RAH. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police are now investigating the crash. The highway was blocked for several hours while the grain spill was cleaned up and truck righted but is now clear.

It is the second grain truck to rollover at the intersection this year, with another blocking traffic on the highway back in January.

Both crashes took place in the early hours of the morning, with emergency services called to the scene at 5.25am earlier today.
