Local footy season is just two months away and a number of big names continue to switch guernseys for 2023. See every player move so far.

Adelaide Footy League goals of the week

Welcome to ‘New Recruits’ – a weekly wrap of all the major player moves in local SA footy this pre-season.

Leading into the 2023 campaign The Messenger will wrap up the big movements across the state, including all country and suburban competitions.

We have seen more big moves recently, with major local names joining new clubs.

Here are the movements from the past two weeks.

ADELAIDE FOOTY LEAGUE

Versatile player Nick Adams has joined Adelaide Uni in division two of the Adelaide Footy League after a solid year with the Old Ignatians reserves.

Able to drop back and have an impact across defence, or perform through the middle, Adams tallied three best player performances for Iggies last season.

ADELAIDE PLAINS FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Angus Crockford (Plympton to Virginia)

Brad Lymn (Rostrevor Old Collegians to Balaklava)

Nick McElroy (Blyth Snowtown to Balaklava)

Plympton midfielder Angus Crockford has made the move to Virginia in the Adelaide Plains FL after time with the Bulldogs reserves and first team.

Crockford, who tallied eight goals and three best player nods last season, adds to a number of Virginia signings after Paul Puopolo’s departure to Hope Valley.

HILLS FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Cody Griffiths (Goolwa/Port Elliot to Kersbrook)

Jackson Groverman (Barossa District to Kersbrook)

KOWREE NARACOORTE AND TATIARA FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Lucindale veteran James Higgins has departed his long-time club for Kybybolite in the KNTFL.

A strong contested midfielder who can also slot in behind the ball if needed, Higgins won the 2021 reserves best and fairest and Lucindale and followed that season up with a premiership in 2022.

Star Kadina midfielder has departed the Bloods for Proprietary/Risdon in the Spencer Gulf Football League.

The son of iconic local SA footy forward Willy Serle, Jordan is coming off of a standout 2022 season in which he kicked seven goals from the middle and was named one of his side’s best on seven occasions.
