A six-wicket haul has put a champion Angle Vale bowler in contention for top spot in Adelaide’s top wicket-taker rankings.

Justin Carman’s 6/80 from 24 overs against Eastern Park in Para Districts first grade on Saturday took his tally to 25 for the season.

He is now just two behind the leader in Peninsula Pirates’ Troy Reciszen with 27 in PDCA LO1.

Carman – a constant at the pointy end of the PDCA wicket-taker leaderboards over the past decade – has shouldered the bowling load once again this season with Angle Vale top of the ladder.

His 118 overs is 15 more than any other bowler in Adelaide.

Reciszen meanwhile held first place by snaring 3/39 for the Pirates.

Morphettville Park’s Matt Tansell also held his positing in the top three, taking 2/42 in Adelaide and Suburban section two.

Dominant West Torrens batsman Daniel Drew remained in the lead of the top run-scorers with 578, followed by Adelaide Risers’ Ankit Saksena on 503.
