Renmark looks set to add yet another trophy to the cabinet after booking a spot in this season’s Riverland grand final with a convincing 15.14 (104) to 4.10 (34) second semi-final win over Loxton North.

The Rovers had the advantage from start to finish in the contest, Dan and Tim Woolford dominating on the ball as the hosts built a 31-2 quarter-time lead and never looked back.

Declan Johnson, one of nine separate goalkickers, was a standout up front for Renmark with four majors.

The Rovers will play the winner of Loxton North and either Barmera Monash or Waikerie in the big dance.

Uraidla Districts has moved into the top three of the Hills Football League ladder after a sensational 19.15 (129) to 4.4 (28) win over Echunga.

The Demons led by nine points during the first break at home but would soon turn up the heat, booting eight goals to just one in the second term to set up the result.

Superstar forward/midfielder utility Dean Terlich was at his best, booting three goals and winning plenty of the contested footy for his side.

A win over Onkaparinga Valley next weekend would now give the club a double chance in finals.

SOUTH GAWLER MAKES STATEMENT

With just two rounds left until Barossa, Light and Gawler FA finals, South Gawler has disposed of second spot Nuriootpa 11.9 (75) to 2.14 (26).

While the Tigers will rue poor accuracy in front of goal, the Lions controlled the play and capitalised, with reigning Mail Medallist Steve Burton dominating on the ball and key utility Patrick White impressing at the back.

The win means the club’s perfect 14-0 2023 record remains intact.

MOONTA THE TEAM TO BEAT

Moonta has earned a break next weekend during the first round of Yorke Peninsula FL finals after a dominant 21.13 (139) to 7.7 (49) win over Central Yorke, taking its season record to 15-1.

Former West Coast and South Adelaide gun Malcolm Karpany was at his best for the Demons, winning the footy inside and setting up teammates ahead of the play as his side booted eight goals to one in the third term.

Captain and superstar forward Tyler Andrews was also an unstoppable force for the hosts, kicking eight goals for the day to take his season total to 76.

United Yeelanna has completed an undefeated Home And Away season heading into Great Flinders FL finals, defeating Lock 17.10 (112) to 5.4 (34) behind nine majors by star goalkicker Matt Crettenden.

The key forward was at his best for the Eagles, cutting up the Roos defence with smart leads and brilliant marking ability.

The champion veteran has now booted 70 goals in just eight games for his club and could be favourite for the Mail Medal despite his small tally of appearances in 2023.

RAMS A LOCK FOR TOP SPOT

Glenunga sewed up top spot of division one in the Adelaide Footy League on Saturday, defeating fellow premiership contender Prince Alfred OC 11.16 (82) to 8.7 (55) at home.

The Rams implemented their patented defensive set up at home under coach Nathan Grima, suffocating the Old Reds defenders and winning the ball repetitively in the middle of the park.

Abe Davis was at his best for the hosts through the middle and up front, while Tom Byun added three goals.

ELEX’S DAY OUT

Elex Day produced a rare 10-goal haul in division one, putting on a clinic for Broadview in the club’s 26.17 (173) to 7.5 (47) win over Old Ignatians.

Also a reserves player for the Tigers this season, Day had struggled to find his footing up front in the A Grade side before the Old Ignatians game.

His ability to take big grabs and remain clean off of the deck was on full display as he tore the Iggies defence apart through four quarters.

Port District topped Goodwood 9.12 (66) to 9.11 (65) away from home in one of the best games of season 2023, keeping St Peter’s OC’s survival hopes alive as a result.

The Magpies were held goalless in the final term as the Saints booted two, but managed to slot home three important behinds to grab the win, with the siren beating Goodwood captain Ben Holzbauer as he ran into an open goal.

SPOC sits just one point below eighth spot Goodwood with one round remaining.

SLATER SOARS FOR MAGPIES

Salisbury’s Mitch Slater booted a huge 14 goals as his side defeated Smithfield 30.16 (196) to 5.5 (35) away from home.

The Magpies star wreaked havoc up front with creative leading, elite hand and foot skills and efficiency from set-shots.

The impressive win ensured the club stayed in second position on the ladder, ahead of Greenacres on percentage.
