An Adelaide Footy League forward has become the first local player to boot 100 goals this season, achieving the feat in 17 games.
Electric Para Hills forward Daniel Weetra booted his 100th goal during his side’s 84-45 defeat of OSB Lonsdale in division seven sending teammates and the home crowd into a frenzy.
Weetra took a grab in the forward pocket towards the end of the second term and was put on the goal line after an opposing defender gave a 50-metre penalty away.
The goal sneak then went back and slotted home the goal as teammates and fans prepared to run on to mob him in celebration.
Weetra started the season in remarkable form, booting 42 majors through the first six rounds to set up a realistic run at the major milestone.
It is the first time Weetra has reached the 100-mark and he should add to his total next week when Para Hills takes on Houghton Districts in round one of finals.
The 27-year-old had tallied previous season totals of 79, 52 and 42 before this year.
