New details for the growing ‘village’ in Adelaide’s inner south have been released, this time with a residential side.
Landmark Homes and Properties have lodged another set of plans for the former TAFE site along Goodwood Rd in Panorama would see 65 apartments built behind its multimillion-dollar commercial project.
The allotments which, according to the report will be offered as a house and land packages once on the market, would be constructed nearby “Panorama Village”, after the application was approved by Mitcham Council’s assessment Panel in August.
Entry for the allotments will run off of Shepley Ave and will require the removal of three regulated trees to help format the layout of an internal public road.
Less than two months after parts of the commercial proposal were scrapped over soil contamination concern, Landmark Homes and Properties submitted a refined application to “meet the needs of its local community”.
The variations to the new plan would see an additional 30 carparks surrounding lot one with the relocation of the car-washing bays to the east side of the lot.
The plans also highlight an increase in building height from 7400mm to 7900mm.
According to the report, the original design aimed to accommodate a drive-through feature for the retail element of the building which has since been deleted to accommodate an increase in floor area.
Local resident Jenny Panagaris raised her concerns regarding the development saying it would not contribute to the neighbourhood.
“The fuel outlet is oversized in relation to the space allocated for shops, offices and businesses on the rest of the site,” her submission read.
“This does not contribute to a sense of neighbourhood.”
The adjusted plans are currently before the Assessment Panel at City of Mitcham with submissions closing in November.
