A Craigburn Farm man has pleaded guilty to trafficking an estimated 3000 fake Xanax tablets as well as cannabis.
Nathaniel Robert Dawson, 21, faced the Adelaide Magistrate Court on Thursday to answer his charges.
Mr Dawson was initially charged with one count of trafficking a large commercial quantity of controlled drug, trafficking a controlled drug and money laundering.
On Thursday, prosecution withdrew the trafficking a controlled drug and money laundering charge and proceeded on one count of trafficking a large commercial quantity of controlled drug.
Police allege an estimated 3000 fake Xanax tablets and other prescription medication were seized from Mr Dawson’s Craigburn Farm home on December 16 2022, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.
It is further alleged police located a trafficable amount of cannabis and one litre of liquid heroin, known as heroin slushie, and around $10,800 in cash.
Mr Dawson will face court again in October.
Police warned of the dangers of taking prescription medication not prescribed by a doctor and dangers associated with fake medicines.
“They may contain toxic or dangerous substances and are manufactured without any standards or quality control, often in unsanitary conditions in backyard laboratories,” a police statement said.
