A 21-year-old Craigburn Farm man has faced court for the first time after police alleged he was in possession of thousand of prescription medication and one litre of liquid heroin.
Nathaniel Robert Dawson appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrate Court on Thursday asking for an adjournment due his lawyer not being present for his hearing.
Police allege an estimated 3000 fake Xanax tablets and other prescription medication were
seized from Mr Dawson’s Craigburn Farm home on December 16, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.
It is further alleged police located a trafficable amount of cannabis and one litre of liquid heroin, known as heroin slushie, and around $10,800 in cash.
Mr Dawson was bailed before Thursday’s hearing.
Magistrate Briony Kennewell placed Mr Dawson on simple bail and he will return to court later this year.
Police warned of the dangers of taking prescription medication not prescribed by a doctor and dangers associated with fake medicines.
“They may contain toxic or dangerous substances and are manufactured without any standards or quality control, often in unsanitary conditions in backyard laboratories,” a police statement said.
