A 33-year-old chef has faced court after allegedly selling a 16-year-old girl Xanax before sexually assaulting her and dropping her back near her southern suburbs school.

The Christies Beach Magistrate Court heard Michael Dimitrios Roros was arrested on March 4 after being charged with 13 counts including engaging in sexual intercourse with a person under 17 years and trafficking a controlled drug.

Police allege the 16-year-old student arranged to meet Mr Roros at the Aberfoyle Park Shopping Centre on Friday March 3, with the intent to buy drugs.

“She told police she met him and followed him to his Mercedes, he supplied her with one Xanax tablet when they reached his car,” the police prosecutor said.

“He drove her to another location and made her consume the tablet before being forced to perform sexual acts on the accused.

“He (Roros) then engaged in sexual intercourse without her consent.”

The court heard the alleged victim left the vehicle and walked back to school and immediately disclosed the details to a close friend.

“She attended Flinders Medical Centre for treatment, she hasn’t been able to provide a vulnerable witness statement as of yet,” the police prosecutor said.

Police also allege at the time of Mr Roros’ arrest, police searched his vehicle where they found 100 tablets of codeine, 250 grams of cannabis, 100 tablets of Xanax, 100 grams of cocaine, as well as $330 in cash.

Mr Roros’ duty solicitor told the court the chef and father-of-three, who the court heard has completed two years imprisonment on other drug matters, would be contesting the allegations.

Magistrate Natalie Browne refused Mr Roros’ bail application due to the nature of the offending.

Mr Roros will return to court later this year.
