Donna Sell had bail revoked after police allegedly find gun in her house months after shootout

A mother accused of firing shots in a terrifying daylight shootout between feuding groups has now been found with another gun and bullets in her house, police will allege.

A woman is accused of hiding a gun in her house only months after an alleged terrifying daylight shootout, a court has heard.

Donna Maree Sell, 36, had her bail revoked in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, now also charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition and breaching bail.

Police allege Ms Sell, 36, her partner, Andrew James Goulding, 49, Christopher Ikin, 37, Ronald Kirkbright, 39, Zachary John Gartside, 25, Jared Edward Ferdinands, 27, and Brooke Louise Doran, 39, were involved in a violent brawl between groups “at war with each other”.

A prosecutor told the court Ms Sell was “lucky” to be granted home detention bail in April, with concerns cited of ongoing violence and retribution.

“There was reference … to a range of calls and letters where Ms Sell made ongoing threats to a number of people and those threats involved the use of a firearm,” the prosecutor said.

The court heard police attended Ms Sell’s home on Monday.

“They located in her shed a prescribed firearm which was concealed in a pillowcase with a number of bullets,” the prosecutor said.

“That pillowcase was in some piping that was in the top of the shed.”

The prosecutor said the gun found was a sawn-off rifle and not the same one alleged to be used by Ms Sell in the previous shootout.

Police were called to Mr Kirkbright’s house on Wallace Rd at Elizabeth Vale after a brawl allegedly erupted between the two groups, followed by gunshots on January 21.

Mr Goulding and Ms Doran are charged with aggravated affray, while Ms Sell, Mr Gartside, Mr Kirkbright, Mr Ferdinands and Mr Ikin are all charged with endangering life.

Mr Gartside and Ms Sell are also charged with discharging a firearm.

Police allege some of the group reattended the property 20 minutes after they left.

Ms Sell was allegedly then seen on CCTV holding a shotgun which she fired into the house.

“Sell then left the house in a silver BMW allegedly driven by Ikin which was followed in pursuit by Mr Kirkbright and another man in a blue commodore,” a prosecutor said during an earlier bail application.

“One of the occupants of the BMW shoots through the back window of the BMW at the Commodore and shots are exchanged between both vehicles as seen by members of the public travelling on the heavily populated Main North Rd.”

The cars allegedly continued to shoot at each other while driving.

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Aaron Fornarino, for Ms Sell, told the court she was the carer of her two children, including a severely autistic son.

Mr Fornarino told the court Ms Sell had a serious leg injury, which required surgery and was at risk of amputation if left untreated.

“Ms Sell denies any knowledge of the firearm,” he said.

Chief Magistrate Judge Mary-Louise Hribal revoked Ms Sell’s bail, for the protection of the community.

The group will face court again next month.
