Andrew Goulding applied for bail, charged with violent feud at Elizabeth Vale

Four people were allegedly involved in a violent feud between northern suburbs residents “at war” which saw weapons fired at a house and a shootout between speeding cars.

Windows were smashed and a person injured before feuding groups sparked a wild car chase and shootout on a busy northern suburbs main road, a court heard.

Andrew James Goulding, 48, applied for bail in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, for his alleged involvement in the violent feud, where the groups were “at war with each other”.

His co-accused, Donna Sell, 36, Christopher Ikin, 37, and Ronald Kirkbright, 39, allegedly then took it one step further with a terrifying daylight shootout.

Police were called to Mr Kirkbright’s house on Wallace Rd at Elizabeth Vale after nearby residents reported a large altercation followed by gunshots on January 21.

The court heard Mr Goulding exited a car holding a bat and allegedly smashed a car window.

“He yells ‘come on you fat f***,’ he then bangs on the house and smashes the front passenger window with the bat,” the prosecutor said.

The court heard Mr Ikin allegedly smashed another window with a paver, while Ms Sell and two other people also walked onto the property.

Three people exited the house, holding a hammer and metal pole.

“Mr Goulding is hit on the left arm with the pole … his arm is broken as a result,” the prosecutor said.

“The fight continues … people are egging them on.”

Mr Goulding, of Smithfield, is charged with aggravated affray while his co-accused are charged with more serious offences, including endangering life.

Police allege Mr Ikin, Ms Sell and another woman reattended the property 20 minutes after they left.

Ms Sell was allegedly then seen on CCTV holding a shotgun which she fired into the house.

“Sell then left the house in a silver BMW allegedly driven by Ikin which was followed in pursuit by Mr Kirkbright and another man in a blue commodore,” a prosecutor said during an earlier bail application.

“One of the occupants of the BMW shoots through the back window of the BMW at the Commodore and shots are exchanged between both vehicles as seen by members of the public travelling on the heavily populated Main North Rd.”

The cars allegedly continued to shoot at each other while driving, before ending up at Mr Ikin and Ms Sell’s house.

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Chris McDonough, for Mr Goulding, told the court he would likely plead guilty to the affray charge if it was severed from the rest of the group.

Magistrate Karim Soetratma ordered a home detention report for Mr Goulding and adjourned the application until next week.

The other co-accused, who are all in custody, will return to court in May.
