A South East man allegedly found in possession of child exploitation material has fronted court following his arrest the day before.
Andrew William Launer, 57, appeared unrepresented in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Thursday and did not apply for bail.
The Naracoorte man was arrested by Public Protection Branch officers on Wednesday.
Following an investigation a police prosecutor told the court two mobile phones were seized from Mr Launer and the data was currently being analysed.
The accused was charged with one count of aggravated and one count of basic possession of child exploitation material.
Magistrate Koula Kossiavelos said the charges were very serious and advised Mr Launer to “get a lawyer”.
Mr Launer was remanded in custody and will next face court in August.
