Jordan Vuglar attempted to groom a six-year-old after he impregnated her older sister

A paedophile who impregnated a 14-year-old girl told her he liked “really young girls” before attempting to lure her six-year-old sister for sex.

A man who impregnated a 14-year-old then attempted to also prey on her much younger sister after he said he liked “really young girls”.

Jordan Brian Lee Vuglar, 28, was jailed for over five years in the Adelaide District Court on Friday after he produced “graphic and horrifying” child exploitation material about a six-year-old.

“You are a serious repeat offender,” Judge Geraldine Davison said during sentencing.

“You were producing child pornography that related to very young children – it was graphic and disturbing.”

The court heard Vuglar befriended a 14-year-old girl who was living in Ingham, Queensland at the time.

“She had told you by social media that she was 14 years old,” Judge Davison said.

“Within a week of commencing these communications you offered to purchase her a plane ticket to Adelaide.”

The court heard the victim accepted and met Vuglar in Adelaide.

“She gave evidence that following her arrival in Adelaide you commenced a sexual relationship with her,” Judge Davison said.

“She subsequently became pregnant … she gave birth to a child in June 2018.”

The court heard Vuglar was not charged for that sexual abuse.

Judge Davison told the court that Vuglar then began talking to the girl about her younger sister in “a sexualised way”.

“You told her that you liked really young girls and you wanted to touch their rude part,” she said.

In June 2018, Vuglar attempted to procure the girl’s younger sister – who was aged six at the time – for sexual activity.

The court heard police found notebooks of child exploitation material that Vuglar had written about the girl’s little sister.

“In addition to this a phone was seized … it showed numerous URLs containing terms indicative of child pornography, in particular child pornography of very young females,” Judge Davison said.

Vuglar was found guilty of communicating to procure a child for sexual activity in a trial.

He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child exploitation material.

The court heard Vuglar had a traumatic childhood, after his half-brother was hit by a car and sustained permanent brain damage.

Judge Davison said despite Vuglar’s denial, his offending suggested that he met the full diagnostic criteria of paedophilia and was at high risk of reoffending.

She said she took into account the production of child exploitation material did not involve exploiting actual children.

“However this must be balanced against the fact that your writing in relation to the production of child pornography is graphic and horrifying,” Judge Davison said.

Judge Davison sentenced Vuglar to five years and nine months jail, with a non-parole period of four years and seven months.

The sentence was backdated to August 15, 2018, when he was first taken into custody.
