A two-storey football clubroom with a gymnasium, more tennis courts and increased carparking has been included in a new $12 million masterplan for the Broadview Sporting and Recreation Precinct.
At the council’s last meeting, it decided to put out its “updated and refreshed” masterplan out for community consultation.
It also includes a new tennis club building, four cricket nets, a half basketball court, rebfurbshing the lawn bowls sides’ clubroom, lighting for the running track and new public toilets near the playground.
Prospect Mayor David O’Loughlin said the plan would continue to make the area “a massively popular sporting hub”.
The precinct is used by Broadview Football Club, Prospect Broadview Tennis Club, Collingrove Tennis Club, Prospect Broadview Bowling Club and Prospect District Cricket Club.

The council will engage designers for the football and tennis clubrooms so they can be “shovel ready” for construction grants.
The first master plan for the area, bound by Myponga Tce and McInnes, Poltawa and Collingrove terraces, was released in 2015.
The plan would be rolled out in stages “over many years”, depending on when funding is secured.
A council spokeswoman said funding would be sourced from its own budget, state and federal governments, peak sporting bodies such as the SANFL and SACA, as well as the local sporting clubs.
