North Adelaide Dental Care dentist Dr Greg Miller takes out top honours in ‘best of’ vote

Some kids may dream of being actors or singers but for Dr Greg Miller there was only ever one goal – becoming a dentist.

This passion for his job has led Dr Miller to take out the title of best dentist in South Australia.

From a field of 14 top tooth experts – and from hundreds of votes – Dr Miller has taken the crown by pulling in almost 20 per cent of the total vote in the latest Messenger ‘best of’ poll.

Dr Miller, who worked in the profession for the past 20 years, said his dream of becoming a dentist started at a young age.

“When I was 11, my mother had a terrible tooth ache and I could see how much she was physically suffering from it,” Dr Miller, 41, said.

“She collected me from school and went in and had root canal treatment. I saw the dentist who worked on her, working with all these amazing tools. But, more than that, I saw my mother went from being in excruciating pain to being relieved and happy.

“Ever since that day, being a dentist was all I ever wanted to do. Other kids wanted to be firemen or astronauts but I always wanted to be a dentist.”

Dr Miller said he was shocked and humbled that he took out the best dentist title, and after working at North Adelaide Dental Care for the past 13 years, he says his team played a large part in the win.

“I suspect a lot of people who voted for me were really voting for the team here,” he said.

Dr Nick Maxted from McIntyre Dental in Para Hills West came second in the voting for SA’s best with Dianne Fabijan from Health Partners Dental in Adelaide rounding out the top three.
