A local man has been arrested in connection with an alleged violent assault in the Adelaide Hills overnight.

A local man has been arrested in connection with an alleged violent assault in the Adelaide Hills overnight.
The incident unfolded around 1am on Wednesday on Laver St at Mount Barker.
Upon arrival, police and paramedics found a man with a stab wound to the groin.
The 40-year-old victim was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition and as of 6.30am his injuries are serious but not considered life-threatening.
Hills Fleurieu detectives and crime scene investigators attended the scene.
A 47-year-old Mount Barker man was arrested later on Wednesday morning and was charged with aggravated assault to cause serious harm.
He was bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court in February.
Authorities believe the incident was not random and are appealing to any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
Only hours earlier, a man was shot at Royal Park in Adelaide’s north west.
The 47-year-old victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Around midnight, police swarmed on a Croydon Park address and arrested a 44-year-old man.
