Let’s be real, no one is immune from making a mistake whilst grocery shopping - or in general. But, there’s usually a lesson to be learned in there somewhere.
At least, that’s what this mum is hoping after exposing her blunder on Facebook.
Aussie mum Rebecca took to the ALDI Mums Facebook group this week with a simple question for her fellow shoppers, and ended up getting a lot more than she bargained for.

“All the dishes smell and taste like chemicals!”
Aussie mum Rebecca posted in the ALDI Mums Facebook group this week, asking for an opinion on her new dishwashing products.
“Hi I (my husband) bought these and they are so chemical based all the dishes smell and taste like chemicals after being washed. Finish brand. Anyone else had similar issues?” she said in the post, accompanied by a photo of the pods at hand.
But, the answer wasn’t at all what she was expecting.

“Yikes!”
Immediately, fellow group members flooded the comments pointing out that the pods were in fact for the washing machine, not the dishwasher.
“They look like the omo pods for laundry,” one commenter said.
“They’re laundry pods?” said another.
“Yikes! They’re for laundry/clothes not dishes,” a third agreed.
“They look like laundry capsules I’ve never seen dishwashing tabs like that,” another pointed out.
“Babe, they’re for your clothes,” said another.
“Thank you for putting a smile on my face”
Others who had seen the post later on shared that they had a bit of a giggle reading it.
“Your husband must be the cleaner of the house most women would know what these are. Thank you for putting a smile on my face hahaha. Post of the week 🤣,” said one commenter.
“This is my favourite post of the week,” said another.
“Thank you for the Saturday morning laugh 😂 do u feel all clean inside now,” a third added.
Thankfully, the poster felt the same way.
“Thank you for your answers 😂🙈, let me be clear my husband bought them and put them in the dishwasher container 🙄😳😳😳😳😳 so embarrassing 🤪 and when I questioned him telling him I was going to complain asking what brand they are, he said they are definitely finish brand 😂🙈 I also usually buy washing machine liquid from Coles, not familiar with tablets. 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈,” she said in an update to the post.

“We did this!”
Though it may seem obvious to many, some commenters even exposed themselves saying they, too, have made this mistake.
“My partner did this to me a few months back, I know how you feel,” one person said.
“I bought omo laundry tablets and did the same mistake 🤣 after first wash all my dishes and the dishwasher smelled like laundry detergent for days 🥴 😅” said another.
“Oh my gosh. We did this, we being me. Sorry to say, it will take months for the smell to come off the cutlery in particular! I almost complained too and then read the friggin packet. We didn’t die though, so that’s a good thing!” a third advised.
So, it seems there is a lesson to come out of this.
“This is why we shouldn't be unpacking our chemicals,” one commenter said.
“This is why it's important to leave cleaning products in the packet,” another agreed.
