Seven new multimillion-dollar accommodation projects coming to South Australia, by 2026

From McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills to the CBD and Glenelg, SA is enjoying a building boom in multimillion-dollar apartments, villas and hotels. See the artists’ impressions.

New luxury hotels, villas and aparthotels are set to be built across South Australia in the next few years, transforming the tourism landscape.

Seven lavish multimillion-dollar projects in Adelaide’s CBD, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills will soon add to the state’s vibrant and modern atmosphere, with most of them set to be completed by 2026.

LUXURY APARTMENTS

A luxe new 13-level apartment building in popular beachside destination Glenelg is set to be built behind the Esplanade, offering 10 dwellings and a basement.

The 426-square-metre residential flats, lodged by H&M Enterprises, will include three-bedroom apartments and a communal rooftop space with solar panels.

MARRIOTT HOTEL

Marriot International

The state will see its first Marriott Hotel by early 2024, with construction already taking shape above Adelaide’s 150-year-old General Post Office building on King William St.

The 5-star $200m luxury hotel will give guests spectacular views from its 16-storey tower, with 285 guestrooms including a presidential suite and a club lounge.

Guests are also treated to signature restaurants and bars, a fitness centre and swimming pool, and a function and conference room.

LUXURY McLAREN VALE RESORT

The McLaren Vale Resort will feature a two-storey hotel, with 124 rooms and separate stand-alone suites, set to open in January 2026 once construction begins in January next year.

Guests will be treated to a trendy lap pool with towering sandstone walls for privacy, and a elongated lounge area with cabanas and daybeds.

The resort, spanning almost eight hectares, hopes to tap into McLaren Vale’s famous epicurean scene, with a 100-seat fine dining restaurant with views of the surrounding vineyards.

McLaren Vale Resort will sit just off Seaview Drive close to Bekkers Wine, Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards and White Hill Estate.

PORT ADELAIDE RIVERFRONT HOTEL

A new $35m hotel development on Port Adelaide’s riverfront is set to comprise 90 rooms across six storeys.

The hotel will have extensive floor-to-ceiling glass, balconies overlooking the hills and river and gym facilities, with premium dining in The British Hotel Port Adelaide located across the road.

Construction of the hotel, to be named Quest II, is scheduled to begin at the end of 2023 and be completed by mid 2025.

Rooms at the hotel are set to have spectacular views, with half of the apartments facing the Port River and Semaphore while the other half will be orientated towards the Adelaide Hills.

STIRLING GOLF CLUB HOTEL

A new $40m hotel and luxury retreat is set to be built as part of upgrades to Adelaide Hills Stirling Golf Club.

The tourist accommodation will have three to five levels comprising 56 units, 15 two-bedroom services apartments, 15 three-bedroom serviced apartments and two penthouse spaces.

The 17 luxury private retreats will also include two parking areas with 200 parking spaces.

Construction is due to start at the end of 2024 to be completed by 2025, coinciding with the club’s 100th year anniversary.

THE LANE VINEYARD LUXURY VILLAS

The Lane Vineyard accommodation at Hahndorf will lease part of their land to Luxury Lodge Group, for the 20 luxury villas at the nationally recognised Adelaide Hills winery.

The $12.5m project could be completed by early to mid-2024, if approved, and is set to include 16 private one-bedroom villas and four premium two-bedroom villas.

Villa guests will be exclusively treated to a “world class” spa and wellness retreat.

VERIU HOTEL

As Veriu’s first office to aparthotel conversion, the 5,000 square metre vacant office space will be transformed into a 111-key aparthotel, set to open its doors in 2024.

The property will showcase a mix of studios, interconnecting studios, and one-bedroom suites, with all units equipped with a kitchen and desk.

The King William St aparthotel – offering the flexibility and space of an apartment, with hotel style services – will also offer on-site amenities, including a gym and guest laundry.
