Port Adelaide superstar Connor Rozee has received the ultimate Christmas present, with he and fiancee Maisie Packer revealing they are expecting their first child together.
The Power’s new captain took to social media to make the announcement, sharing the happy news in a joint Instagram post with Ms Packer.
“Best Christmas present ever,” Rozee, 23, captioned a black-and-white photo of himself holding Ms Packer’s belly.
Family and friends wasted no time congratulating the couple, including Hollywood star Teresa Palmer.
“BEST NEWS EVERRRRR,” she wrote on the post.
Kellie Finlayson, wife of Rozee’s Power teammate Jeremy, added: “The best ever, so happy for you two”.
The baby announcement caps off an incredible year for Rozee, 23, who enjoyed a sterling season on the field, earning his second All-Australian jacket and finishing second in Port Adelaide’s best and fairest award, the John Cahill Medal.
Earlier this month, Rozee was named Port Adelaide’s new captain and re-signed with the club for a mammoth eight seasons.
Off the field, Rozee and Ms Packer, his partner of over three years, became engaged in October, also sharing the news in a joint Instagram post captioned: “Forever with you”.
The post was accompanied with a series of heartfelt photos of the couple together, plus an engagement cake and a close-up of the ring, a classic round cut diamond in a four-claw setting from Class A Jewellers.
Maisie is one of the daughters of Seb Packer, managing director of Packers South Australia, a manufacturer of aluminium windows and doors, as well as the founder of TreeClimb.
She graduated this year from the University of Adelaide with a degree in psychological science.
