'My jaw dropped': People are just realising the correct way to put in bin bags

I hate putting a new bin bag into my rubbish bin.

I mean, I'm sure no one really enjoys doing it - but I really hate it.

Such a small, menial task just feels so hard, you know? 

It's fiddly and for some reason, the bag just never feels like it gets to the bottom but just reaches somewhere halfway.

But now a TikTok hack has come along to save the day and it turns out there's a much simpler way to make sure it gets RIGHT in there.

The proper way to use bin bags

TikTok user @anna.antonje.gvn stitched a video she saw on the platform, showing a garbage man demonstrating the trick.

After watching the clip, she immediately ran to her kitchen to test it out and to her surprise, it works.  

Apparently, you grab the bottom of the bag and hold it up with one hand. 

Then run your other hand quickly down the length of the bag, smoothing it out and forming a solid point (like a sword).

Next, just place the pointy end in the bottom of the bin and open up the top and place it around the rim as you usually would.

The hack left viewers impressed and has now received over 500,000 likes and 2000 comments. 

"Just me that puts my hand in the whole bag to put it at the bottom, lol," one user joked.

Another said, "Well I'll be damned." And a third wrote: "I am definitely trying this today!"

"Never too late to learn something new," claimed a different viewer.

"My jaw literally dropped," admitted one woman.

Naturally, others claimed to have "always known this."

"I’ve always done it like that. How was this not already a thing?" one comment read.

Another added: "Been doing this forever, how can someone not think to do this?"
