"Can be literally wiped off"

Sharing a video to social media - which has now been viewed a whopping 1.8 million times - Joel explained that he thought his old scratched plates were beyond repair.

On close inspection he realised they were marks from his cutlery.

"Today I learned that these grey scratches are actually metal streaks left behind by your knives and other cutlery and can be literally wiped off.

In the video, he wet his plate, and sprinkled a small amount of the polishing powder on it, before giving it some "firm wipes like you mean it" with a cloth.

The marks then disappeared within seconds.

“And you’re a magician, I am, what the kids ostensibly say, shook.”

He captioned the clip, “Bar Keepers Friend is now also my friend. I can’t believe all these years I thought there was some coating I had scratched off my plates. Today I learned (yes, actually today) that they can be made like new.”

In the comment section, one person wrote, “I can't describe, but this feels illegal to know”

A second person was grateful for the announcement, “TikTok teaches me new useful life lessons on the daily.”

While another user said, “mind blown, thank you.”

One person tried it themselves and reported back saying, “Can attest this works. I had so much fun cleaning my plates.”

Others said a Mr Clean magic eraser and Pink Stuff does the same job.
