Woman’s hilarious laundry fail goes viral and her comparisons are too funny

Most of us have accidentally shrunk our clothes in the wash before, but this woman managed to GROW her trousers instead.

Summer Reeves, 18, from Essex, was baffled when she took her trousers out of the washing machine to find they had grown in size and no longer fit her.

Laughing it off, Summer is still baffled at how she managed to do this and compares herself to Simon Cowell, as the trousers now reach up to her neck.

"I had to laugh it off, and people said I'm the only person in the world that can actually grow something in the wash. Usually, people shrink things, but because it’s me, I somehow manage to grow things," she explains.

An epic laundry fail

Summer says she decided to wash her new trousers to prepare for a special event when she made the hilarious discovery. 

"I had a special event coming up, which I was excited about, so I looked for an outfit. I found this blue set I had and wanted to wear it, so I washed it ready," she explains. 

"I had bought them from a boutique as part of a set for £25. They were flared trousers. I hadn't worn them before, and the one time I wanted to wear them I somehow did this.

"When I got them out of the wash, the next thing I knew they had grown. It was like I had put a magic seed in with them to grow."

Trousers like Simon Cowell

Summer says it wasn't a slight stretch. The pants "grew to three quarters of the size of my body."

She adds: "It was so weird. I had never seen anything like that happen before."

The woman goes on to explain how she has encountered a few laundry fails in her time, but never anything as epic as this. 

"I've had trouble with washing machines before - by mixing colours and turning everything pink and shrinking clothes - so this is an achievement really," she laughs.

Looks familiar...

The social media content creator couldn't believe what she had managed to do, and now calls them the 'Simon Cowell trousers' due to how high they now sit on her body.

"I tried them on as I thought they had just stretched and would still fit like normal but they hadn’t. They weren’t for me. They had grown so much that they were up to my neck. I was like Simon Cowell.

"I have kept them as they're funny to look at but I now know them as the Simon Cowell trousers.

"It was a funny and easy mistake to make. I just don't know how I did it."
