Influencer couple's 'annoying' travel hack divides internet

"As a flight attendant pls don't"

Plane etiquette tips all frequent flyers need to know

Travelling with your partner means one of you is always going to get the short end of the stick. That being, the dreaded middle seat.

While one of you is having the time of their lives, either peering out at the clouds with their head resting on the window, or stretching out their legs and going to the bathroom with no interruptions on the aisle, the other is fighting for their lives having not claimed an arm rest early enough.

Thankfully, one internet couple has come to the rescue with their genius hack - but commenters aren’t so sure it’s a good idea at all.

“No one gets the middle seat!!”

Influencers Ambar and Casper Lee have taken to TikTok this week, sharing their genius hack for travelling as a couple.

“Maturing is realising two aisle seats is the superior choice when flying as a couple,” Ambar wrote in the video.

“You both get aisle access, no one gets the middle seat!!”

In the video, the pair are holding hands across the aisle.

“Need to try this!”

Some commenters on the video thought the idea was genius - with many saying they’ve been doing it themselves all along.

“Yes! Been doing this [with] my husband for years,” said one person.

“Need to try this (coming from a middle seat girly who always lets her boyfriend have the window),” said another.

“Yes! This! It’s the true way,” a third agreed.

“As a flight attendant pls don’t”

But, others weren’t so sure.

Some said they’d far prefer to be sitting directly next to their partner.

“But then I can’t fall asleep on my partners shoulder whilst watching a film together. I’d only take 2 aisles if it was a short flight I think,” one commenter said.

“How do I sleep on his shoulder like this? No thank you,” another agreed.

“I’d rather sit with my partner than a stranger. He doesn’t mind sitting in the middle seat,” said a third person.

Others were more concerned about the couple bothering others in the flight by constantly talking and reaching over the aisle.

“And you are annoying to anyone else on the plane,” said one person.

“As a flight attendant pls don't," said another.

“Constantly leaning into the aisle blocking everyone/everything from passing…” another person said.

“And chatting louder than leaning into someone’s ear/shoulder to speak,” a fourth added.
