Vegemite soft serve ice cream gets a trial run at Tasting Australia. And why not?

Hey kids! Vegemite flavoured ice cream might sound like a wild combination, but that’s just the sort of adventure Tasting Australia can serve up.

Lamington Taste Test

Things are looking sweet in Adelaide’s town centre as the Tasting Australia food and wine festival rounds out its first weekend.

Among the food offerings in the festival hub, Town Square (Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga), is a new kooky treat – Vegemite soft-serve – whipped up by dessert specialist Shibui.

Ice-cream lover Lucy Langhans, 7, along with little brother Jack, 3, was among the first to try the unusual creation.

“It was really yummy,” she said, adding it was “really fun seeing all the stalls and hearing the loud music” in Town Square.

The Square is free to enter and features a range of food and drink stalls, and is expected to attract more than 50,000 people across the 10-day program. Tasting Australia is on until May 8.
