A South Australian spirits maker has launched its new state-of-the-art distillery in the Adelaide Hills.
Tin Shed Distilling Co’s inaugural Distillery Door features a barrel room, tastings, live music and smokehouse BBQ dining.
Located in Nairne, in the old freezer of the historic Chapman’s Bacon Factory, the facility will also produce their range of whiskies, vodka, rum and gin, which will be distilled and aged onsite.
Co-owners Vic Orlow and Ian Schmidt said the new venue, which opened over the weekend, was a “long time coming” for the business.
“We’re thrilled with how it’s come together,” said Mr Orlow.
“We’re creating an immersive experience that brings together our award-winning whisky and premium spirits, authentic smokehouse BBQ and live music from some of South Australia’s leading artists.”
Head chef Anthony Albrice’s BBQ-focused menu will highlight SA produce, and can be enjoyed in the expansive outdoor dining space, which features fire pits, a Yoder Smokers pellet smoker and a Parilla wood grill.
The venue, open Wednesday to Sunday, will also host four live music gigs a week.
Founded in 2012, Tin Shed is best known for its award-winning Iniquity Whisky range, which won three prizes at the 2024 World Whiskies Awards.
