Shoppers are going nuts over a backless top sold at Kmart, with many claiming it “looks way more expensive” than its $18 price tag.

At the front, the “Sleeveless Buckle Back Top” appears to be part of a suit set, but from behind the garment completely exposes the wearer’s bare back.

And its revealing nature has proved popular among Gen Z shoppers, many of whom have declared the wardrobe item “slays”.

“Customers are loving the Sleeveless Buckle Back Top for its, stylish design and versatility,” a Kmart spokesperson told news.com.au.

“With tailoring still such a key trend, this is a great way to achieve this look with the buckle detail on the back makes it the perfect top to take from day to night,” the spokesperson said.

“Customers also love that we continue to make trend items accessible at our everyday low prices.”

The retailer added the style was proving popular as it was able to be “dressed up” to suit different needs.

“What is great about this style is it has versatility being able to be dressed up with tailored pants or with one of our tailored mini skirts and a cute pair of heels,” Kmart added.

“Then when you want to have a more casual outfit, you can wear it with your favourite pair of relaxed jeans and ballet flats.”

This is a sentiment shared by social media users who have shared an array of videos modelling the affordable item.

“Girls listen up, get your ass to Kmart, this top is $18,” one TikTok user wrote, sharing a video of herself wearing the item in black with a pair of jeans.

“Another Kmart slay,” someone else declared, posting a clip wearing the top in grey along with a matching mini skirt.

“Kmart pulling through once again,” a third shared in another video.

Reactions to the top have been overwhelmingly positive. Many are wearing as a set with the $20 “Bengaline Mini Skirt”, bringing their whole outfit in at $38.

It’s not the only new Kmart item that shoppers are raving about, with the retailer recently causing a stir with its $15 Anko Microwave Toastie Maker, prompting the Australian brand to declare it the item of the season.

“It goes in the microwave for three minutes, I think half way through you have to flip it over to ensure its crispness,” Kmart’s Divisional Merchandise Manager Meryn Serong told news.com.au recently.

“We often talk about the power of one item and how much joy that can bring to our customers, this item is definitely the one of the season,” Ms Serong said.

Shoppers went nuts when the gadget, which makes “crispy” toasties in just minutes”, appeared on shelves – with some describing it as a “game-changer”.

“My kids will love this, and it’s MUCH quicker to clean than a sandwich press and much easier to make than in a pan,” one declared online.

“So good for a quick snack,” another mused.

While a third said: “This is perfect because our kitchen has no room for a sandwich press.”
