Tiffany Warne will bring some sunshine to Channel 10 Adelaide’s news bulletin as the station’s fill-in newsreader.
Weather presenter Warne took over this week from Kate Freebairn, who will be on maternity leave until next year.
The 10 News First Adelaide newsreader and her partner Nick Fahey are expecting a baby girl in March, who will be a sister to their two-year-old daughter Airlie.
It is Warne’s first full-time newsreading role, though she has been presenting Ten’s Friday bulletins.
Joshua Webster and Jessica Heatley will share the weather presenting duties in Warne’s absence.
“It’s an absolute privilege to keep the seat warm for our gorgeous Kate Freebairn as she and her family welcome baby number two. I’ve already suggested naming her little girl, Tiff … she hasn’t confirmed or denied whether she’ll be going with my suggestion,” Warne said. “Presenting the weeknightly 10 News First bulletin means handing over the weather reins to Josh and Jess – but I’ll still try to bring some of the sunshine to the newsdesk.”
Webster, 2023 SA Press Club Awards Young Journalist of the Year, said he’s looking forward to being “out in the elements”.
“Whether we’re in the midst of scorching hot or wet and wintry weather, there is always something fantastic to showcase around Adelaide,” he said.
Heatley said Ten’s viewers are passionate about the state’s climate.
“10 News First Adelaide’s Weather Watchers community is still going strong after many years – and I’m thrilled to now join our weather team on a regular basis,” she said.
Warne landed the plum role as Channel 10 Adelaide’s weather presenter in January 2023, replacing Freebairn, who had returned from maternity leave with her first child as the station’s sole newsreader.
