TV news presenter Kate Freebairn has been keeping a big story under wraps – she’s pregnant with her second child.
The 10 News First Adelaide newsreader and her partner Nick Fahey are expecting a baby girl in March, who will be a sister to their two-year-old daughter Airlie.
“We’re so happy to have another girl on the way,” said Freebairn, who
“I always saw myself as being a girl mum – I grew up with a sister and all female cousins, so I can’t imagine life any other way.”
Freebairn and PointsBet co-founder Fahey have been together for over five years. She admitted that it’s been a tiring few months, combining work, pregnancy and motherhood.
“I’m past halfway now – I have to admit it’s been a lot more exhausting being pregnant, while having another little person to chase around,” she said.
“But it’s been fun to share it all with Airlie. She’s very excited to be a big sister. We haven’t decided on a name yet, but Airlie’s set on ‘Baby Unicorn’.”
The couple, who split their time between Sydney and Adelaide, will spend Christmas and the summer holidays down at our beach house at Aldinga Beach, before Freebairn goes on maternity leave in February.
Ten’s longtime weather presenter, Freebairn moved to the news desk at the start of 2023.
