TV newsreader Kate Freebairn and partner Nick Fahey have welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Elsa.
The 10 News First Adelaide presenter and PointsBet founder announced the happy news on social media, sharing several photos of the new addition to their young family.
Elsa, who arrived earlier this month, is a little sister to their almost three-year-old daughter Airlie.
“12 days with our beautiful Elsa,️” Freebairn captioned an Instagram post on Wednesday.
“Thank you to our friends and family for the flowers and well wishes. She is so loved!”
Freebairn was swamped by wellwishers, including former Ten newsreader Bec Morse, Nine presenter Kate Collins and celebrity chef Laura Sharrad.
After giving birth to Airlie in 2022, Freebairn returned from maternity leave in 2023 as Ten’s sole newsreader.
The station’s weather presenter, Tiffany Warne, is currently filling in for Freebairn on the newsdesk, with Joshua Webster and Jessica Heatley sharing the weather presenting duties in Warne’s absence.
In November, Freebairn told The Advertiser that she and Fahey, her partner of over five years, were thrilled to be welcoming another girl to their household.
“I always saw myself as being a girl mum – I grew up with a sister and all female cousins, so I can’t imagine life any other way,” said Freebairn, who splits her time between Sydney and Adelaide.
