Taylor Swift’s rumoured Australian tour: Adelaide Swifties fear exclusion from ‘The Eras Tour’

Taylor Swift is coming Down Under for her latest world tour – but there are fears among local Swifties that Adelaide will be missing from the line-up.

Taylor Swift’s South Aussie fans may be left out of the singer’s upcoming stadium tour as rumours rumble she is coming down under.

While the international pop star’s plans to come to Australia remain unconfirmed, industry insiders have been told Swift will only perform in Sydney and Melbourne.

Adelaide Oval has declined to comment on whether the Anti-Hero singer is performing at the venue.

However the singer, who is most streamed artist in Australia, has been known to alternate between Adelaide and Perth on previous Australia tours with Adelaide being next up if she follows suit.

The speculation began after DeuxMoi released a “blind item” from an anonymous informant claiming “dates have been booked for Taylor at the MCG in Melbourne”.

This followed an Instagram story posted by pop culture podcast Shameless, which posted a message from a follower who claimed they were an MCG employee.

“Dates have been booked for in (sic) Taylor,” the post read, accompanied by a eyebrow-raised selfie of Shameless Media co-founder Zara McDonald.

“I just posted that without verifying or fact-checking,” Ms McDonald said in a follow up episode of Shameless, posted March 30.

Since posting the story Ms McDonald and co-host Michelle Andrews spoke “to a few sources” and have gathered information that Swift is set to perform at the MCG either in “Feb or very early March” is what they have heard from “multiple credible sources” since sharing the anonymous tip.

“We also know a Sydney show is happening, unfortunately other cities not quite clear, a couple of whispers of maybe a Brisbane show,” Ms Andrews said.

“It looks like Melbourne and Sydney only.”

Perth sources have said they are saving dates for the singer just in case.

Adelaide fans have been left heartbroken at news the Blank Space singer may not make her way to South Australia.

One fan, Chantelle, posted on Twitter “not to be dramatic but with the cost of travelling these days, (if) Taylor Swift doesn’t bring The Eras Tour to Adelaide, I may die”.

The Eras Tour, which was announced by Swift in November 2022, will continue make its way around the United States until August with any international dates yet to be announced.

“I can’t wait to see your gorgeous faces out there,” she wrote on Instagram.

“It’s been a long time coming.”

The tour kicked off on March 18 in Glendale, Arizona with the city temporarily renamed “Swift City” in honour of the singer. Swift’s tour will continue through to Los Angeles ending on May 8.

The Love Story singer came to Adelaide in 2015 for the 1989 tour, however she skipped South Australia during her Reputation tour in 2017 opting for Perth instead.
