Radio presenter Ali Clarke smashes her rivals in final Adelaide radio ratings for 2021 ... as she quits the ABC

Ali Clarke smashed her rivals in the final radio ratings survey for 2021, just as she’s left the ABC. But the figures also show clearly why Mix 102.3 is desperate to poach her.

Flashback to 2017: ABC Radio Adelaide switches breakfast and morning presenters

Ali Clarke’s gain is the ABC’s loss in the latest — and final — radio ratings survey for 2021.

Clarke, who has just announced she is leaving Aunty to spend more time with her family, has finished the year on a high.

The outgoing ABC Adelaide breakfast presenter recorded 17.4 share points in the survey, up 1.6 from last month.

The result puts her show in the No. 1 spot yet again.

But, in the most dramatic result of all, Mix is no longer Adelaide’s favourite station.

The FM station has lost its long-held title to AM station, ABC Adelaide.

Mix dropped 0.6 share points to end up with 10.9, while Aunty finished with 12.2 after a 0.9 gain.

If the rumours that Clarke is defecting to Mix prove true, the FM station may find itself back on top again in both the crucial breakfast timeslot and overall.

FIVEaa duo David Penberthy and Will Goodings have Adelaide’s second most popular brekky show, with 12.6 after a drop of 1.0.

Triple M’s breakfast team, Mark Ricciuto, Chris Dittmar are Laura O’Callaghan are in third place overall and number one on the FM dial for the second month in a row.

They finished with 12.2, up an impressive 2.1, the highest gain of any brekky team.

Mix 102.3 duo Mark Soderstrom and Erin Phillips were in fourth spot again with 9.0 after a dip of 0.4.

Nova 919’s Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton are in fifth place with 8.1, followed by SAFM’s Rebecca “Bec” Morse, Andrew “Cosi” Costello and Andrew “Lehmo” Lehmann with 8.0, and Cruise1323 on 6.9.

In the overall station results – where ABC Adelaide was No. 1 followed by Mix – Cruise 1323 and Triple M tied for third place with 9.9, with FIVEaa and Nova 91.9 sharing fourth place with 9.5.

In other radio news, Warren Tredrea’s uncertain future at Channel 9 could see the return of one of the TV station’s favourite sons next year.

The Advertiser understands Kym Dillon has been sounded out by 9News Adelaide for the weekday sports presenter role currently filled by Tredrea.

Tredrea and Nine are in a stand-off over the ex-Power star’s rumoured objection to a double vaccination mandate introduced nationally by the TV station this month.

Nine has denied Dillon is in the mix to return to its newsdesk.

“Any suggestion Nine Adelaide is speaking to, ‘sounding out’ or considering Kym Dillon for a sport presenting role is inaccurate and not the case. Warren Tredrea is on a break, as other members of our presenting team are, or will be, over summer,” the network said in a statement.
