Veteran FIVEAA radio producer Tammii Caught is hanging up the headphones after more than 30 years at the station.
Ms Caught declared it was the “end of an era” as she prepares to say goodbye to listeners on Friday ahead of a fresh start in state politics.
The longtime producer of Leon Byner’s morning show, Ms Caught said it was a “privilege” to work in radio for so long.
“Radio is such a wonderful medium to work in and I’m grateful to Nova Entertainment for allowing me to enjoy this medium for so long,” she said.
Ms Caught will soon take up a new position as an electorate assistant in the office of Badcoe MP Jayne Stinson.
Reminiscing on her time at FIVEAA, Ms Caught said there was nothing like the adrenaline rush of breaking news on radio.
“I’ve had an amazing career as a radio producer, covered the big news stories and helped many listeners with their problems, from legal issues to Centrelink issues, to finding jobs and accommodation,” she said on social media.
“I’ve worked with some interesting characters and spoken to some big celebs, including Matthew McConaughey and Arnold Schwarzenegger – and even bought a cigar for Arnie!
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work in radio, which I still think is the best medium, and for the friendships I’ve made and the support I’ve received from some wonderful people.
“Now I’m excited about the new challenges ahead, putting my skills to use helping constituents in Jayne’s electorate.”
FIVEAA station manager Craig Munn said Ms Caught had played a “leading and pivotal role” in producing Adelaide’s number one morning talk program for more than 25 years.
