There’s a new female voice on Adelaide’s radio airwaves, with Laura O’Callaghan joining Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar on Triple M’s breakfast show.

O’Callaghan, 30, has been a regular contributor on the program this year but today will start full-time on the new-look Breakfast with Roo, Ditts and Loz.

A former presenter at community station Fresh FM, O’Callaghan described the new role as an “absolute thrill”.

Triple M is adding a female to their breakfast show. Laura 'Loz' O'Callaghan will join Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar full-time on the new Roo, Ditts and Loz show.

“I’m such a big fan of them both, it feels surreal to be joining the team,” she said.

“They have been very welcoming and we’re already having a lot of fun. I’m excited to see what mischief we can get up to.”

Traditionally a male-dominated station, Triple M’s Roo and Ditts show started on drive in 2011 before moving to the early morning timeslot in 2014.

In the latest radio ratings, the veteran duo finished fifth overall in breakfast and third on the FM band, behind Mix 102.3 and SAFM.

Former Crows champion Ricciuto said O’Callaghan would “keep him on his toes”.

“She’s a former celebrant, singer and bartender, so let’s hope she can hold down this job for longer than a few months,” he joked.

“But seriously, she’s got talent and it is good to have another Adelaide Crows supporter on the show.”

Dittmar added: “Loz has been doing segments with us for a while now and brings a great vibe into the studio. We are really excited to have her in full time.”

O’Callaghan was co-host of the Fresh FM “Loz and Thomo” breakfast show for three years, taking over from Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton in 2018. Before working at Fresh, she also starred on an ABC TV children’s series.
