Influencer Jade Tuncdoruk slammed for ‘demanding’ honeymoon refund

Bikini model Jade Tuncdoruk’s management say they are reviewing their position with the disgraced influencer.

Tuncdoruk has made headlines for all of the wrong reasons this week after a xenophobic rant against Uber Eats resurfaced from 2017 that prompted others to come forward with stories about the Sydneysider.

Subsequently, further stories emerged showing the darker side of Tuncdoruk’s profile with an email exchange between her and a holiday rental company that would not provide a full refund on a booking she made.

Tuncdoruk works full time as an influencer and uses her platform to promote items ranging from clothing to cars, holiday destinations, beauty products and even candles.

Going by the name Jade Tunchy with 484,000 followers on Instagram, she is represented by Sydney-based MAXCONNECTORS.

The MAXCONNECTORS website states it is Australia’s leading influencer and creator agency and also looks after Tuncdoruk’s model boyfriend, Lachie Brycki.

“Max Connectors is unable to comment as the situation is under review,” a representative for the agency told Confidential.

Instagram profile Celeb Spellcheck this week uncovered Tuncdoruk’s 2017 post about Uber Eats, in which she complained to the food delivery service that she found it “annoying” that they used “too many non English speaking delivery” people who “can’t follow basic instruction”.

Tuncdoruk was also called out for using social media to pressure holiday rental company Weekenda into refunding a $2000 deposit in full after her wedding was postponed. She included a link to the small business’s page, which prompted some of her followers to lash out at the company.

It isn’t the first time Tuncdoruk has been criticised for her social media use.

In 2020, Tuncdoruk conceded companies had cut ties with her as she would not reduce her fees to post about their products or services during the Covid pandemic.

She earns anywhere from a few hundred dollars to thousands for a single story post or picture shared on social media.

“I’ve collaborated/worked with a few brands over time (a long time) who as of late have asked me to work for much, much less, or for free due to budget cuts – which I understand,” she wrote on her Instagram in May that year.

“However when I’ve said no – which is in my opinion completely warranted – have completely written off the relationship. These are brands I’ve travelled with and promoted for years who just throw the relationship away because I’ve refused to work for free. I’m very surprised that these organisations are willing to throw relationships down the drain after such a long time. Each to their own, but personally I wouldn’t severe (sic) ties with someone who I ‘valued’ for years.”

A year earlier, in May 2019, Tuncdoruk’s eco credentials took a hit after she slammed companies for sending her free loot wrapped in plastic packaging only to hours later share a snap of herself sipping a cocktail through a plastic straw.

In another post in December 2018, Tuncdoruk faced backlash after warning followers not to moan about how much paid content she was uploading because Christmas was a busy time for influencers.

“It’s a very busy time of the year for our industry,” she said at the time. “I also want to remind you guys that it is my full time job, so if I wasn’t posting sponsored content I wouldn’t be able to post other content and then you guys wouldn’t see much of me at all.”
