Any day now Jodie Oddy’s replacement at Mix 102.3 will be announced but, with the release of the final radio ratings for 2020, she’s gone out on a high... and some listeners appear to have left with her.
In a move that shocked her fans and the radio world, Jodie resigned effective immediately on November 19. She is yet to explain why.
But, in just-released radio ratings, the breakfast show she co-hosted with Mark Soderstrom finished the year at No1 on the FM dial, albeit sharing the spot with Triple M’s Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar.
Both stations recorded 10.6 share points: Mix was down 1.9 from the previous survey, while Triple M had an increase of 1.1.
Some industry insiders are attributing Mix’s dip to Jodie’s absence for part of the survey, which concluded on November 28.
But the result also means Jodie achieved 82 FM breakfast wins during her 13 years at Mix.
Also up 1.1, ABC Adelaide’s Ali Clarke – who’s heard on the AM band – recorded 15.9 share points to make her the overall winner in the breakfast ratings.
AM station FIVEaa’s breakfast duo, David Penberthy and Will Goodings, finished in second place with 12.2 after a 1.6 dip.
Nova’s brekky presenters, Ben Harvy and Liam Stapleton, were behind Mix and Triple M in fourth spot with 9.7, followed by SAFM’s Rebecca Morse, Andrew “Cosi” Costello and Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann with 8.0.
Mix is still Adelaide’s No1 station with 11.7, down 1.7 from the previous survey, which could also be due to the “Jodie effect”.
In second place is ABC Adelaide, which gained 1.4 points to finish with 11.2. Easy listening Cruise 1323 is in third spot with 10.9, with sister stations, FIVEaa and Nova, tying for fourth place with 9.8. Coming runner-up is a significant gain for Aunty: Last survey FIVEaa was in second spot, followed by Nova, Cruise and ABC Adelaide.
