Home And Away star Sophie Dillman ‘petrified’ ahead of 2022 Logie Awards

Home And Away’s Sophie Dillman is seeking silver at the 2022 Logies, but a colleague and personal “hero” stands in her way. See the full list of nominees.

Home And Away star Sophie Dillman hopes she can keep herself together on Logies night.

With the Australian television industry set to celebrate its biggest night for the first time in three years due to Covid cancellations, Dillman is excited to celebrate with her peers but also to meet her idols.

“I am petrified,” Dillman, who plays Ziggy on the hit TV soap, told The Daily Telegraph.

“And I am not very good at having a game face either. You will see me starstruck and unable to speak in coherent sentences.”

Dillman, 29, is up against co-star Ada Nicodemou in the Silver Logie Most Popular Actress category on Sunday at the annual event that will be held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Also in the category are Bojana Novakovic for Foxtel and Binge’s Love Me; Deborah Mailman for Total Control; Kitty Flanagan in Fisk; and The Newsreader’s Anna Torv.

“They are some of the biggest names in Australian television,” Dillman said.

“I never even thought I’d be able to meet these women in my life, let alone have my name alongside them so it is truly the nomination that is the big thing.

“They are such role models and such inspirations for me that it is like being a little kid and meeting your heroes.”

Dillman, who was previously nominated for a Most Popular New Talent Logie in 2018, refuses to entertain the thought of possibly winning in the category.

“I dare to dream that will happen. My mum and I are very superstitious so you can’t get too excited. I think I would cry a lot.”
