The Star of Greece restaurant in Port Willunga has long been acclaimed as one of the state’s best, and Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan agrees.
The Hollywood actor, who’s in SA shooting TV thriller The Tourist, enjoyed a romantic lunch at the coastal hotspot last week with wife, musician Amelia Warner, during a break in filming.
Nikki Govan, owner of Star of Greece, said the couple were given a private table overlooking the beach and raved about the experience.
“They had a wonderful time and said it was ‘one of the best meals they have ever had’,” she said. “They were extremely polite and genuinely grateful to our service team.”
Irishman Dornan, who played Christian Grey in the trilogy of films, has been joined in SA by a star-studded cast including Hugo Weaving and Danielle Macdonald for the six-part Stan Original series.
Dornan, 38, and Warner arrived in town earlier this month with their three daughters Dulcie, 7, Elva, 5, and Amelia, almost 2, and have been out-and-about enjoying the state’s COVID-free lifestyle.
Warner has shared photos on social media of the family driving on the beach at Silver Sands, Aldinga and bushwalking in Morialta Conservation Park, while she also took their children to The Wiggles’ Adelaide concert at the Entertainment Centre.
They later dined at Grenfell St cafe Unicorn Eats, where Dornan and his girls tried the eatery’s famous rainbow-coloured cheese toasties.
A spokesperson for Uniqorn Eats said the couple’s children had the “best manners we’ve ever seen”.
“They were super nice … they didn’t say too much but said they’d heard about us and the kids were super excited to come in,” the spokesperson said.
Dornan recently spoke about how he and his family were looking forward to a “normal life” in SA, free of COVID restrictions.
“Once we get through quarantine there, it’s kind of normal life for the most part. They go to school with masks. For them, that’s huge; so for us, that’s huge. So we’re definitely excited,” he told GMA News.
“I feel like I’m in great hands and I’m very excited about the actual job, and excited just to work.”
