An image from prison break drama Escape from Pretoria, which is filming in Adelaide, was released internationally today, showing Daniel Radcliffe and Australian Daniel Webber as arrested South African freedom fighters.
Webber, who appeared in US TV series The Punisher, plays anti-apartheid activist Stephen Lee while Radcliffe, famous as Harry Potter, is fellow activist Tim Jenkin.
Also in the cast is UK actor Ian Hart who knows Radcliffe well; Hart played Professor Quirrell who taught Defence Against the Dark Arts in Harry’s first year at Hogwarts.
He is joined by Australian actors Mark Leonard Winter from spy thriller Pine Gap and Nathan Page from Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries.
Industry and Skills Minister David Pisoni said the film was another major international production drawn by our diverse locations and world-class crew and facilities.
“The Marshall Liberal Government is investing in our local film industry to ensure we are globally competitive,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pirie St will be closed between Hindmarsh Sq and Frome Rd until 10pm tonight as filming continues on the movie.
The film, whose producers include Arclight Films and the South Australian Film Corporation, is based on a true story in which Jenkin and Lee escape using handmade keys.
