Imagine you had walked through the portal to platform nine and three quarters and instead of arriving at a windswept platform in London, you appear in Mitcham.
That was the scene on Wednesday as Harry Potter star and acting juggernaut Daniel Radcliffe began filming his latest project on location in the southern suburbs.
Radcliffe, 29, has been spotted all around Adelaide over the past two weeks as filming begins for the eagerly anticipated drama Escape from Pretoria.
Inspired by a real prison escape in 1979, Radcliffe plays a white South African activist imprisoned for working with the ANC, who breaks out of the brutal Robben Island Prison.
Wednesday’s filming took cast and crew to Mitcham train station to capture outdoor scenes complete with era appropriate clothing, smoke machines and a classic Valiant car.
