LOOKS like the good folk at Jacob’s Creek are getting bang for buck out of their relationship with actor Chris Hemsworth.
The Thor superstar posted three sponsored photos to his personal Instagram account yesterday showing himself in full flight at the Barossa Valley winery. And it looks like a special Hemsworth blend is on the way.
“No, I’m not drinking wine from a straw, I’m blending my own unique shiraz,” the actor said on one of the photos.
Chris and his family arrived at Adelaide Airport on Thursday afternoon on a private jet and were whisked away to the Barossa via two helicopters, believed to be headed for the uber-posh Kingsford Homestead. The exclusive property, once the filming location for McLeod’s Daughters, is hired out for a minimum of $3700 a night.
A Jacob’s Creek spokesperson was very keen to keep the superstar’s visit quiet when contacted, but did say they would be announcing a project with Chris, who narrated one of their commercials last year, early next week.
The endorsement deals have been flooding in for Chris recently, with Tourism Australia engaging him to head their latest Crocodile Dundee commercials, which premiered at last week’s Super Bowl to more than 110 million Americans.
Crocodile Dundee-inspired South Australian tourism experiences have been launched to capture the momentum of our most aggressive marketing campaign in the US in 30 years. The commercial, which started as a mock film trailer, has been a huge success, with calls being made to make another film in the franchise.
famous faces such as Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Ruby Rose, Isla Fisher, Luke Bracey, Jessica Mauboy and Chris’s brother Liam Hemsworth.
Tourism Australia’s big pitch to the US travel market is aimed at increasing the value of the US tourism market Down Under from
$3.7 billion a year to $6 billion by 2020.
If that success were to be replicated in SA, the US visitor market could climb from
$73 million a year to almost $112 million.
Meanwhile, Chris also reportedly visited Gawler Aerodrome yesterday for a flight to a “secret location” but happily posed for photos with fans who met him there.
