It seems all is not over for one of the couples involved in two of Sydney’s most talked about marriage breakdowns.
Sunday Confidential can reveal Charlie Aitken and Hollie Nasser haven’t broken up as has been reported, but are instead just taking things slowly.
Friends close to the pair said on Saturday the couple was still very close and excited to see where their new relationship goes, but right now, remained committed to protecting their children from the fallout of the spectacular breakdown of their respective marriages late last year.
“Charlie and Hollie might not be living together, but they are still extremely close,” one friend told Sunday Confidential on Saturday.
“They still talk every day. They just need things to settle down. Right now their priority is their children.”
Another friend revealed Hollie was surprised by Charlie’s announcement of the relationship, with the young mother hoping it would stay under wraps a little while longer.
“Basically Charlie got a little excited and announced their relationship prematurely,” another friend said.
“He should have just confirmed his split with Ellie and let the relationship grow naturally instead of putting too much pressure on it straight away.”
Charlie and Hollie first made headlines in November when The Sunday Telegraph revealed Charlie’s two decades-long marriage to Ellie Aitken had ended and that Charlie had moved on with Hollie, the wife of one of his company’s founding investors, Chris Nasser, and a close friend of Ellie.
It is believed the relationship between Hollie, a psychologist and Charlie blossomed when he asked her for advice following the breakdown of his marriage to Ellie.
The relationship news comes as Ellie Aitken flew in to Sydney on Saturday following five weeks in Aspen with her young children.
Sunday Confidential can reveal the director of distribution at Double Bay-based fund Pallas flew straight from Sydney to Melbourne, where she is attending the Australian Open with close friend and Pallas boss Charles Mellick.
