He’s the hot Aussie actor who has caught the attention of millions of people around the world following his brief but memorable stint on the Sex and the City remake.
Builder-turned-model turned actor Ryan Cooper landed the role of hunky physical therapist Travis in the spin-off And Just Like That … beating Britney Spears’ fiance Sam Asghari for the role.
And just like the series made Samantha’s sexy on-screen boyfriend Smith Jerrod a household name, Cooper is tipped for big things following his memorable stint on the cult show.
“It has been very interesting,” Chic Model Management’s Cooper told Sunday Confidential on Friday. “A lot of attention has come from this.
“I have been receiving a lot of messages from casting directors and people in the industry.
“A lot of people say this is how it starts for many actors.”
Cooper, who has been based in the US for 15 years, said he formed a close bond with Sarah Jessica Parker on set.
“It was great and the girls were absolutely beautiful,” he said.
“SJ asked for my chair to be put beside her … We talked about life as parents, music choices and fears around reviving a show that had such a following.”
Cooper has had a diverse career.
“I was a builder for six years, then got asked to go and travel and do the modelling thing,” he said.
“DKNY was the first shoot in New York I did.
“I did campaigns around the world and I had the free time to learn acting.
“It became a passion and I got the opportunity to study with some great acting coaches.”
