Adelaide WWE sensation Rhea Ripley stars in Call of Duty Season 5 video game trailer

Fans have been blown away by the Adelaide sensation’s latest starring role for one the world’s biggest franchises.

Rhea Ripley breaks down after massive WWE homecoming

Australia’s greatest ever professional wrestler can now add a new title to her impressive resume – the nation’s most prolific video game character.

Adelaide’s WWE sensation Rhea Ripley (real name Demi Bennett) is now officially a playable Call of Duty character, video game giant Activision revealed overnight.

The former Riot City Wrestling star and Henley Beach High student joins WWE champion Cody Rhodes and legendary luchadore Rey Mysterio in Call of Duty Season Five, taking a starring role in a new trailer that dropped last night.

The popular first-person-shooter style game is slated for its official release next week, and marks a big change from Ripley’s other interactive appearances in the WWE 2K series of wrestling games, where she has regularly appeared alongside fellow Adelaide-export “Big” Bronson Reed (Jermaine Haley).

In her newest arena, Ripley’s latest 3D rendering is seen in mortal combat brandishing a series of high-powered firearms among an arsenal of handheld weapons and signature wrestling moves in the 1 minute, 14 second teaser video.

The clip has already caused a stir among fans and comes just a week after Ripley’s surprise return to TV screens after months on the shelf due to injury.

It’s been a big year already for the Adelaide-born star, who was forced to give up her WWE Women’s World Champion status in April

That tearful announcement came just two months after she received a hero’s welcome as the marquee attraction for WWE Elimination Chamber in Perth, her first major appearance for the company in her home country.

It also follows the happy news last months that she had tied the knot with long-term partner and fellow Aussie pro wrestling export Buddy Matthews.
