Adelaide fitness entrepreneur Kayla Itsines has made a surprising admission about pregnancy, days after she welcomed her first child with fiance Jae Woodroffe.
Jax Stokes Woodroffe was born on January 5 following an elected C-section with the news shared with Ms Itsines’ 15.3m Instagram followers on Monday.
A week after her son’s arrival Ms Itsines admitted she doesn’t enjoy being pregnant.
When asked during a social media Q&A on Wednesday if she missed her pregnant belly, Ms Itsines responded “absolutely not”.
“Another controversial one … I am grateful to be blessed with the ability to have a baby … I love my babies … I do not enjoy being pregnant,” she said.
“It’s all just stress, nausea, reflux, cramps, uncertainty, back pain.
“I have had some seriously bad experiences and I just count down the days until I have my baby in my arms.”
Another submitted question asked when she would start training again.
The multimillion- dollar co-founder of Sweat fitness app said following the birth of her first child Arna with former fiance and business partner Toby Pearce, she started training again after six weeks.
While she did not indicate if she would be doing the same this time around, she recommended not returning to the gym for six to eight weeks after a C-section procedure, adding doctor’s approval should be sought.
“Recovery is hard, but I don’t mind,” she said.
“As long as he’s happy, healthy and fed, I’ll be right.”
She also changed her profile picture on the app from an image of her pregnant to a shot of her stretching in a matching orange activewear set.
