Impressive full forward Felicity Ward kicked a blazing goal in the first 15 seconds of the game to set the tone for the clash.

Ward would go on to kick a hat trick of goals, while impressive half-forward Lucy Farmer turned plenty of heads in a game-winning performance.

The SMOSH West Lakes junior booted four majors, including three in a dominant first half display as the Eagles sewed up the contest before the main break.

North Adelaide young gun Lucy Reddaway has done her draft prospects no harm in a brilliant display to cap off a big week for the Roosters.

The half-forward, who comes from the famed Goodwood Saints, kicked two goals and set up another as North Adelaide capped off an undefeated week in the Under-17 division.

The Roosters made no mistake on Thursday, beating Norwood 5.8 (38) to 1.5 (11) at XConvenience Oval.

It capped off a rocks and diamonds final day of the carnival for North Adelaide, with Norwood narrowly getting up in a two-point thriller in the earlier Under-15s clash.

Woodville West-Torrens made a statement in their final Under-17s clash of the carnival with a dominant win over South Adelaide Panthers.

However, the Eagles had their own way in the older age group as they flew to a comprehensive 60-7 victory.

Woodville-West Torrens will also be in broadcast action again on Thursday, taking on South Adelaide at Eastern Parade Reserve.

DAY ONE REVIEW

A Jessica Searle goal in the dying minutes has sealed victory for Glenelg in a tense and tight clash to open the SANFL Girls Intrastate Carnival.

The Tigers edged out Woodville-West Torrens by seven points in the hotly contested affair at Eastern Parade Reserve, beginning their U15 tournament in winning fashion on Tuesday.

Glenelg trailed by nine points heading into the last quarter before Elise Hahn goaled early to get her side right back into the contest.

The Tigers then peppered the goal unsuccessfully before finally breaking through after Morphettville Park junior Searle was awarded a free kick in the ruck and kicked truly.

However it was the Eagles who prevailed in the U17 match, proving too strong in a 45-9 victory.

In Tuesday’s other live streamed clashes, North Adelaide secured a strong 45-20 win over Central District in the U15 contest at X Convenience Oval before smashing the Dogs 52-0 in the U17s.

Tune into KommunityTV again on Wednesday to see the Roosters in action again when they face Sturt along with a double header between West Adelaide and the Eagles.

Roosters Female Football Manager, Kurt Donsberg, said the carnival would give the club’s representatives a chance to prove what they can do on the big stage.

“Our teams are looking good, we’ve got a lot of talent across the squad and we’ve had a bunch of girls come over from the country, which is always good to see,” Donsberg said.

“The carnival is really exciting for us because it gives us that connection to the players, especially from the country, and it gives them an opportunity to standout against tough competition.”

Donsberg said the Roosters were ready to take on what would be strong opponents on all three days.

“The girls are motivated and looking forward to the challenge,” he said.

“I think the talent coming through across the board in SA is super exciting and you’re going to continue to see that during these events as well as the SANFLW season.

“A lot of girls have had a ball in their hands for 10 years now and you’re going to see a real spike in talent soon.

“There’s going to be so many girls getting drafted, so it’s definitely a really exciting time.”
