THEY say if you need something done ask a busy person and there are none busier than Brook and Angela Dobbin of Glenwood Park. With a large performance horse barn and work as a farrier, this family was also the driving force behind the 2020 Glenwood Park Spring Showjumping Classic held at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre. The spur of the moment idea grew into reality very quickly with the Dobbins putting the show together in just a few short weeks.

Once again entries filled in minutes, proving how keen riders are to get out and about. International course designer David Sheppard built in ring one and was pleased to find things getting back to normal.

Not only did the Dobbin family organise the competition but they also found time to compete and were extremely successful.

Brook Dobbin rode Miranda MVNZ to win the 1.30m championship from Jim Richards and Foreign Secret.

He then mounted up on Adelyn Fallon’s Velvet Kate to win the 1.20m championship from Shimona Fraid and Dancing Queen HP.

Brook also rode Gina MVNZ to win the 1.35m speed class from his second ride Gabriel MVNZ.

Daughter Charlee Dobbin also had a great show. Riding Dreamtime Invader Charlee won the 1.05 junior from Tanner Robinson riding Shady Creek Blue Fire. She then went on to win the 1.10m junior championship riding Dreamtime Invader from Tanner Robinson who this time was riding Bringmoor.

The 1.15m speed class was also won by Charlee riding Dreamtime Invader — this time pushing dad into second place on Obelix MVNZ.

Olympian Amanda Ross had a day out with RLE Cavalier Vivendi and together they won the 1.25m speed class from Brook Dobbin and Carado MVNZ. The 1.10m championship was won by Rebecca Barling riding On Your Mark from Jack Barker and Mighty Toscanini.

Elissa  Stephen’s  rode  her fathers horse Quick and Lively to win the 1.05m speed class from Louise Abey and Sail on By.

Other winners across the weekend included Nellie Rogers and Rocket Rod, Zara Adnams and Elcarium Starlight and Amelia Tsilfidis and Pride of Gold.
