Elms showjumping comp takes off post-COVID

Riders were thrilled to return to competition at the first post-COVID event organised by the Sale and District Showjumping Club.

PERFECT weather and conditions greeted competitors at the Elms Showjumping Show run by the Sale and District Showjumping Club.

Jim Richards dominated in the main ring. Riding his gelding Foreign Secret, he jumped the only clear round to take out the 1.40m jump-off class.

Second place went to Tori Stuckey riding Finch Farm Cab Sav.

Adam Johnson won the 1.30m jump-off class riding his home-bred Up from local rider Melissa Backman and Blackall Park Coloe.

David Boulton, known for his fast jump-offs, proved impossible to catch, winning the 1.05m and 1.10m jump-off classes on Little Arrow from Hudson Craig and Flashdance DH, as well as the 1.20m jump-off class from Phil Stephens and Baluce.

Brook Dobbin riding Gabriel MVNZ won the 1.35m jump-off class, narrowly beating himself into second place with Gina MVNZ.

Local rider Jess Kiernan was absolutely delighted to win the 1.25m jump-off class riding Hemsworth. Second place went to Shimona Fraid riding Unreachable.

The 1.15m class was won by Sam Conway riding Denison Park Arnie once again relegating Shimona Fraid and Dancing Queen HP in to second place.

Ally Lamb riding Kiara DP won the 1.04m jump-off class from Zoe Boulton and Charlie while Kaylee Stephens and Van Wilder took out the 85cm class.

Other winners across the weekend included Holly Chilla and Flicka, Amelia Tsilfidis and Pride of Gold, Zara Adnams and Digmac Disco King, and Grace Perkins and Blackwood Billabong.
